The Point of Common Coupling (PCC) represents the location where all collection circuits will be brought. This is typically the location of interconnection switchgear for medium voltage interconnections or a plant substation for high voltage interconnections. It is also the location where a generator step-up transformer (GSU) will be located if the interconnection voltage is above 34.5kV. Furthermore, the PCC may or may not be coincident with the Point of Delivery (POD). If they are coincident, revenue metering will occur at the location of the PCC icon. If they are not coincident, revenue metering will occur at the Point of Delivery which will be connected to the PCC via an overhead gen-tie line. The length of this gen-tie line is specified by the user in the Electrical inputs page.

The following steps outline the procedure to specify the PCC:

Step 1: Within the Project Design Environment, Click Site on the left Navigation Bar and move the map to focus on your site area.

Step 2: Click Point of Interconnect within the Project Controls Widget.

Step 3: Click Add PCC and move the blue interconnection icon to the preferred location for the Point of Common Coupling (PCC). This icon can be placed inside or outside of the project boundaries and does not need to be located within an exclusion zone although it may be desirable to specify an exclusion zone to represent the necessary space for a switchgear pad or substation.
